Renata Cia Sanches Loberto
I am a PhD researcher based at the University of Strathclyde, working in collaboration with the University of Glasgow and the University of Hull.
Curiosity has always been a driving force behind my interest in biomedical engineering. I completed an MEng in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Glasgow, including a Master’s research project at ETH Zurich.
My research explores how single-pixel imaging can be used to better understand the interactions between glioblastoma and its tumour microenvironment. Glioblastoma is the most common malignant primary brain tumour in adults and one of the most aggressive forms of cancer. By studying how the tumour and its surrounding environment influence one another, I hope to contribute to a better understanding of tumour behaviour and uncover insights that may support future prognostic approaches.
Outside the lab, I enjoy exploring the outdoors and can often be found hiking in the mountains, swimming in lakes or the sea, or occasionally combining the two.
If you would like to know more or discuss ideas, I would be happy to hear from you. Feel free to connect with me on LinkedIn.
