Mapping biodiversity on campus

The University of Glasgow is home to a wide variety of animal and plant species. We are keeping track of our biodiversity through iNaturalist, a social networking service for naturalists, citizen scientists, and biologists.

The campus species observations are stored in four projects, one each for Gilmorehill campus, Garscube campus, Cochno Farm and Research Centre and the Scottish Centre for Ecology and the Natural Environment (SCENE).

Get involved

You can add your own observations to iNaturalist - all you need to do is create a profile. Any observations made on campus will automatically be added to the UofG projects.
