Bidding for funding
The Research Support Office offers lots of support on bidding for funding.
Data management
Enlighten: Research Data, the institutional repository, is a place where you can deposit research outputs for long-term access and preservation. Contact the Research Data Management team who can help you with the deposit process and advise on data management.
If you need to write a data management plan for your grant proposal, speak with the Research Data Management Team. You may also find it useful to contact your local IT support.
If you are in the College of Arts, you can also contact the Resource Development Officers (see below) for help with many aspects of research data management.
Research ethics
The College/School Ethics Officers deal with the processing of requests for ethical approval and can answer questions related to ethics.
The University Ethics Committees should be consulted for all research involving human or animal subjects. Sample consent forms and guidance on funder requirements are also available on their webpages.
IT support
IT Services provides the main University computing facilities, technical infrastructure and email. They offer on-demand support through the IT helpdesk. Enquiries about securing additional file storage and back-up for research projects should be directed to the helpdesk.

Local IT officers can assist with the day-to-day management of storage and back-up, as well as offering technical advice. Please note that local IT contact details may change. If in doubt, the central IT helpdesk should be able to give you a local contact.
