Green Travel Hackathon

Published: 6 December 2019

Staff and research students invited to help suggest how we make business travel greener

Business travel accounts for 20% of our university's carbon footprint. Help us come up with ways to make our travel greener. We are looking for postgraduate research students and academic/research staff from all career stages and subjects to contribute to this hackathon, working together to come up with practical ideas for action to make travel more sustainable.

We recognise there are lots of potential solutions but also lots of barriers and challenges, so we want to make sure that any new policies don't disadvantage or exclude particular groups, or result in unintended negative consequences.

The outcome will feed into university travel guidance that will be implemented in the 2020/21 academic year.

The event will take place in the Senate Room on Tuesday 14 January, 13.30-15.30
