The University has been awarded the Carers Trust Scotland "Going Higher for Student Carers Recognition Award".Going Higher 650

The trust is carrying out this work across the sector with funding from the Scottish Funcing Council.

Throughout 2019, staff from Student Services, the Students' Representative Council, Widening Participation and Advisors of Studies have worked together to collate the evidence necessary to achieve the award which recognises and celebrates good practice and encourages higher education institutions to identify, support and report on student carers.

Since the launch of our Student Carers’ Policy in 2011, the University of Glasgow has been committed to supporting student carers. From our named points of contact, Monika Anderson and Denise Hooper, to our adjusted offers of entry, the University - alongside the SRC - ensures that student carers at UofG are supported from application to graduation.
