Appointment of Deans to our three Transnational Education operations

Colleagues will be pleased to hear that the University has recently appointed Deans to each of our TNE operations.  These initiatives (two of which can be considered as ‘ground-up’ activities) are an increasingly important part of our overall portfolio and, as we continue to develop our international profile and position, we need to ensure strong and imaginative leadership.  Hence, Professor John Marsh will become Dean for UESTC partnership Chengdu.  Professor Trevor Hoey will be Dean for SIT partnership Singapore.  Professor Chris Carman will be Dean for the Nankai Joint Graduate School.  While each operation currently has a distinctive profile, we envisage building on and expanding our provision.

I am sure that colleagues will wish to join me in thanking and congratulating all three.  I very much look forward to working closely with them.
