International students bring valuable experience from studying and living in another country, as well as working with people from diverse cultures. My advice to current students is to stay open-minded and not to overlook opportunities with smaller companies. Remember that employers in the UK value people skills that you could build through societies and clubs, internships, part-time jobs and volunteering. The University of Glasgow Careers Service played a key role in helping me secure a graduate role. I benefited from CV reviews, interview workshops, webinars, and coaching sessions that helped me understand the essential skills UK employers look for.
