Rare Books Search
Searches all published printed items held in Archives & Special Collections and the Library Research Annexe
Use AND or OR to specify multiple word. Use NOT to exclude words. Use '*' for open-ended truncation, '?' to replace a single character anywhere within a word.
Examples:
For books by Robert Burns, with ‘dialect’ as a keyword (i.e. kw:) published in 1786
- Choose Author search from the dropdown menu
- Search: Burns, Robert AND kw:dialect AND yr:1786
For books entitled ‘Poems, chiefly in the Scottish dialect’, not written by Robert Burns, published between 1786 and 1800
- Choose Title search from the dropdown menu
- Search: Poems, chiefly in the Scottish dialect NOT au:Burns, Robert yr:1786..1800
