University policies about feedback

The University has policies that relate to feedback, and whilst you might not want to read them all in detail, there are some important things you should know, and it is always good to know where to find them too. University policies are mostly found on the University Senate Office website (the Senate Office oversees the governance of the University). The policies that relate specifically to feedback are listed below:

Guides and Policies

  1. The Code of Assessment is the University’s set of rules about assessment. It is a complex legal document and the Guide to the Code of Assessment is a useful and accessible way to understand it.
  2. A guide to Feedback on Assessment and Data Protection is available and states what you can expect in terms of written feedback.
  3. There is also a policy on Feedback following Summative Examinations and states what feedback you can expect after an assessment.
  4. Section 7 of the Assessment Policy relates to the provision of feedback and includes the requirement that feedback should be prompt and normally be returned within three weeks.
