The doors of the ICE building are being opened to the public for the first time, with research poster presentations and tours of the 7T MRI scanner and coil lab on offer for Glasgow Doors Open Days Festival visitors.
As part of the Glasgow Doors Open Days Festival programme, visitors are being welcomed to ICE on 19 and 20 September 2026 to discover how advanced medical imaging is helping researchers and clinicians better understand the human body and brain.
ICE staff will be on hand to chat, answer questions and explain how imaging is used in research and healthcare. Small tour groups will gain exclusive access to the most powerful MRI scanner in Scotland and visit with the engineers who design and build bespoke MRI coils for use at the University of Glasgow and across the world.
