Arts & Humanities Mobility Scholarship

This funding opportunity is available to support study or research for both Undergraduate and Postgraduate taught students in the College of Arts. Students may apply for up to £500. We anticipate being able to support around twelve projects per year.

Applications are currently closed. They will reopen for the second round in February 2023.

Criteria and Eligibility

The Arts and Humanities Scholarship is open to College of Arts Undergraduate and Postgraduate Taught students to support research costs associated with a dissertation, applied dissertation, or independent research project undertaken in relation to a programme of study. The scholarship can also support short-term mobility in connection with a student’s course of study.

This may include travel costs, domestic or international, archive costs, tickets for museums or similar venues, language courses, conference fees, and short-term summer courses. The Scholarship will not fund equipment which can be borrowed through your department.

Students who apply for mobility-related projects but are already studying abroad for a semester/full academic year through the University’s Go Abroad Programme must be completing an additional project. It does not suffice to state that you are studying abroad, and the Scholarship cannot fund your Go Abroad year or semester.

The Arts and Humanities Scholarship can fund research or study projects. Students who require financial aid because of hardship are advised to look at other financial aid options available to them. Moreover, the Scholarship will not fund equipment that can be borrowed from the University instead.
