Our Aims

We aim to:

  • demonstrate ways in which the arts and humanities can illuminate and negotiate the complexities of climate change and sustainability.
  • promote the value of placing climate change, climate justice, and sustainability within historical and cultural contexts.
  • advocate for the importance of engaging with climate change, climate justice, and sustainability through creative, affective, and discursive means.

How We Intend to Achieve Our Aims

We'll achieve our aims by:

  • creating and promoting initiatives by University of Glasgow staff and students that use the arts and humanities to engage with climate change, climate justice, and sustainability.
  • advocating for the inclusion of climate change, climate justice, and sustainability across the arts and humanities curriculum.
  • representing the arts and humanities in working groups and debates across the University of Glasgow.
  • fostering partnerships with environmental, climate change, climate justice, and sustainability organisations outwith the University of Glasgow.
