Visa information for travelling via Dublin (or any other airports in the Republic of Ireland)
If you require a visa and you intend to travel to the UK via Dublin (or any other airports in the Republic of Ireland), you will not pass through any UK immigration point and will therefore not be able to obtain a visa on arrival.
Therefore, if you plan to travel via Dublin you must apply for a visa before leaving your own country. If you are coming to Glasgow
- for a full year (semesters 1 and 2): you must apply for a Student Visa before you travel or
- for a single semester: you will need to apply for a Visitor Visa before you travel.
