Erasmus+ language requirements
Interested in coming to the University of Glasgow as an Erasmus+ Study Exchange Student?
All Erasmus Students are required to submit evidence of language proficiency before they can be accepted to study at the University of Glasgow. As part of their application, students must supply confirmation that they are proficient in English in all four components of reading, writing, speaking and listening to a minimum CEFR B2 level.
EU Nationals language requirements
Complete our language proficiency confirmation form and upload this as part of your online application. Please work with your University to complete the form.
You are expected to have achieved a minimum CEFR B2 level of English Language Proficiency in each of the four components of Reading, Writing, Speaking, Listening.
Non-EU nationals language requirements
If you're not an EU national and are coming to Glasgow for the full academic year, we require you to submit an IELTS for UKVI (Academic) test taken within the last two years. This is required by UKVI immigration regulations, and is necessary in order to issue you with your student visa sponsorship documents.
