The University of Glasgow has guaranteed to support compulsory language placements abroad until the 2024/2025 academic year.
Professor Stephen Forcer, the Head of School of Modern Languages and Cultures, underlined the importance of the support: 'This is a huge boost from the University and means that SMLC students in all years can continue planning their degree-counting placements abroad. The support also means that new students applying for a place with us know that degree-counting placements abroad will be possible for them. Placements abroad are a massive opportunity for students, not only in terms of study and career prospects but also personally, with the chance to make friends, explore new cities and landscapes, and try new food, music, sport, and other ways of life.'
For full details of the arrangements, see the statement published on by the University's Go Abroad Office.
