The Dental School Pantomime this year was Opercules. It told the story of a young man battling to become the greatest clinician of all time. He encountered the trials and tribulations which all staff and students who have come through the Dental School could relate to… sort of.

After months of hard work from the BDS5 cast and crew the pantomime turned out to be a huge success and was an incredibly enjoyable evening for all involved. It had a myriad of dental puns along with a soundtrack provided by a twenty-piece band of dental students from all years. Although not evident at some points, it also had choreographed dancing, audience participation and singing from staff and students alike. It provided a platform to showcase the fantastic talents, other than dentistry, which Glasgow Dental School staff and students possess and delivered an evening of outstanding entertainment for the capacity audience..

All of the proceeds from the event are being donated to two worthy and local charities. They are: CHAS (Children’s Hospice Association Scotland) (http://www.chas.org.uk/) and Touched by Suicide Scotland (http://touchedbysuicidescotland.org/ ). Both of these charities will receive a donation from the money raised on the night. This money was raised through ticket sales and other generous contributions.
