Abstract

Approximate conjugacy provides a rather new and flexible notion of equivalence for dynamical systems when genuine conjugacy is too rigid.

In this talk, I will discuss several notions of approximate conjugacy for minimal dynamical systems, with an emphasis on systems on the Cantor set and on the product of the Cantor set with the circle. I will explain how dynamical approximation interacts with K-theoretic and C*-algebraic invariants, and how the topology of the underlying space shapes the structure and classification of approximate conjugacy.
