Abstract

The moduli space of principally polarised abelian varieties defined over finite fields is studied through various stratifications. The two most natural stratitifcations appear to be the Newton stratification, defined by the isogeny class of the p-divisible group, and the Ekedahl-Oort stratification, defined by the isomorphism class of the p-torsion.  In this talk I will discuss joint work with Steven Groen and Mychelle Parker which studies intersections of  these two stratifications in dimension 5.
