Abstract
A translation surface (X, w) is a compact Riemannian surface that's flat everywhere except at a finite set of singular points called singularities. These singularities can be thought of as concentrated points of hyperbolicity. In this talk we discuss the question: what does a typical geodesic on (X, w) look like? Based on joint work with M. Pollicott.
