Abstract

Have you ever found yourself in a situation where code which worked one day doesn't the next, and you can't figure out why?  Perhaps you are afraid to add changes to your code in case it breaks; Or Perhaps you find yourself having lots of folders with "_version1" after the name.

If any of this applies to you, then you need version control with Git.  Git is a powerful version control system that keeps the history for your code so you can always see what has been changed. Git also has more powerful feature (branches) to let you make additions to your code and only apply those changes when you are ready for them. Learning Git and version control will save you time, effort, and stress when it comes to writing code.  In this talk we will give a short introduction to Git and how it can make your life easier.
