Abstract

Let k be a field. A Hopf k-algebra is said to be connected if its coradical (that is, the sum of its simple subcoalgebras) is just the base field k. I will give a survey of the recent progress made by myself, K. Brown, J.Zhang (U Washington) and G.Zhuang (U Washington) in the understanding of connected Hopf k-algebras of finite Gelfand-Kirillov dimension in the case where k is algebraically closed and has characteristic zero.
