SU(2) character varieties and a Lagrangian-Floer theory for tangle decompositions of Knots

Abstract
I will describe ongoing work with Herald and Hedden to produce invariants of knots in 3-manifolds
from the Lagrangian-Floer homology of SU(2) character varieties associated to a tangle decomposition of the knot, and discuss their relation to singular instanton homology
