Positive scalar curvature and analytic assembly

In a series of papers in 2004, Higson and Roe demonstrated how to map the surgery exact sequence of a manifold to an exact sequence involving the K-theory of C*-algebras and the analytic assembly map.
Stolz developed an analogue of the surgery exact sequence for manifolds of positive scalar curvature. Building on the work of Higson and Roe, it is possible to map this positive scalar curvature exact sequence to the same analytic K-theory exact sequence.
In this talk I will discuss both of these exact sequences and some of the maps between them, focussing on the case where V is a compact manifold.
