Abstract
I will talk about limits of groups in the Gromov-Hausdorff topology: where do they come from, their various incarnations, and relations  to Tarski's problems. I will also touch  on the intimate relations between  Zariski, Krull and Cantor-Bendixon dimensions in  groups.
