Archimedes: The Method

Abstract

Although Archimedes lived almost 2000 years before Liebnitz, Newton and the Calculus, he developed a method of integration which allowed him to find areas, volumes and surface areas of many different bodies. This method is outlined, then is used to find the volume of a sphere.
