Small infinite noncommutative groups

Abstract

The posh title for this talk might be something like "Steps towards the classification of prime Hopf algebras of small gelfand-Kirillov dimension". But I hope the facetious version gives the flavour better - it will be a gentle reminder and explanation of what a Hopf algebra is and some of the things it might be good for, coupled with an account of some recent work of myself, Zhang and Goodearl. Prerequisites should be pretty minimal, I hope.
