In this talk I will introduce the notion of an asymptotically CAT(0) group and describe some of their algebraic properties; for example why does such a group have finitely many conjugacy classes of finite subgroups. I will also provide examples of asymptotically CAT(0) groups which are neither hyperbolic nor CAT(0). To finish I will present some interesting questions related to these groups.
