Abstract

In this talk I will discuss some recent progress (and issues) in the development of numerical methods for multiscale problems. I will mainly discuss multiscale partial differential equations and present the so-called heterogeneous multiscale method (HMM), a computational strategy to construct, analyze and implement macro-to-micro methods for solving such problems.
