VIRTUAL SEMINAR SERIES -- INTEGRABLE SYSTEMS: Classifying representations in conformal field theory via the combinatorics of symmetric functions
Simon Wood (Cardiff University)
Wednesday 27th October, 2021 13:30-14:30 Zoom seminar hosted by ICMS
The classification of representations for conformal field theories (or more specifically vertex operator algebras or chiral conformal field theories) is a notoriously hard problem. I will review recently developed methods which solve this problem by converting it into the evaluating of certain expressions in symmetric functions in the Jack basis. These methods have proved helpful for a number of different algebras, but to keep things accessible the main guiding example will be the much studied Virasoro minimal models.
For more information, and how to access the seminar through Zoom, see the webpage of the events here.
