Abstract

I will present some of my recent research in Bayesian computational inference applied to studies of drivers of ecological population change and stochastic models in mathematical biology. The former study focuses on developing reversible jump MCMC algorithms (one for Bayesian variable selection and a second approach to account for model uncertainty in multispecies models) applied to long-term citizen science data on garden birds. The second focuses on the comparison of a variety of MCMC algorithms for efficient inference in high-dimensional stochastic models of systems biology, such as cell signalling systems.
