Abstract

It is both useful and interesting to be able to model blood flow under physiological conditions. These models may allow us greater insight into different diseased states and processes. However, developing mathematical models for blood flow is difficult due to the sheer number of factors that must be considered.
We explore a 1D model for blood flow in the coronary microcirculation, discussing it's derivation, implications, and numerical implementation.
