Abstract

Coarse median spaces/groups were introduced by Bowditch in 2013 as a unified way to study Gromov's hyperbolic groups, CAT(0) cube groups, and mapping class groups. These groups share several nice properties including quadratic Dehn's function, rapid decay, and Yu's Property A. In my talk, I will introduce these objects and properties, as well as our recent work on their asymptotic dimension growth.
