Two-variable hypersurface singularities and symplectic mapping class groups

Abstract
We report on joint work-in-progress with Jonny Evans (UCL), on symplectic mapping class groups of Milnor fibres of some affine hypersurface singularities. We will focus on (stabilisations of) two-variable singularities, and the image of the fundamental group of the complement of their discriminant loci in the symplectic mapping class group.
