Instrumentation

‌ISAAC is equipped with state-of-the-art scanning electron microscopes (SEM’s). SEM’s are among the most versatile and widely used tools of modern science, and they enable detailed characterisation of the morphology and composition of inorganic and organic materials. One SEM has an ‘environmental’ mode, permitting accurate examination of ‘wet’ samples. The other SEM can provide detailed 3D images.
