Social impact

The focus Educational Leadership and Policy Research and Teaching Group is the promotion of more equitable education systems through theory-driven, applied research and capacity building through leadership development.

Our research has led to socioeconomic impacts in Scotland. In particular, for example in the case of Chapman’s extensive portfolio of work on classroom, school and system Change through collaboration and partnership for equitable Improvement.

Our research informs the delivery of several degree programmes led by members of the RTG, such as: Childhood Practice (Boyle, Wingrave); Education Public Policy and Equity (Murphy); Education Policies for Global Development (Valiente); Educational Leadership (Nguyen), Middle Leadership and Management in Schools (Kerrigan) and Into Headship (Harvie).
