We are delighted to launch a new journal in partnership with Glasgow City Council Education Services: Leadership, Scholarship and Praxis in Education (LSPE). You can access Volume One of the journal here and a short promotional video here. 

LSPE is an open access journal that aspires to share practising education leaders’ research more widely to inform the profession and to increase their professional learning as published authors. 

Specific aims are to:

  • Amplify the knowledge, ideas and experiences of practising education leaders in Scotland and beyond.
  • Support Leadership, Scholarship and Praxis at the University of Glasgow School of Education, Glasgow City Council and beyond.
  • Publish scholarship and research that focuses on praxis for social change.
  • Support education practitioners as authors engaging in scholarship and research.
  • Support learning and transformation for leaders and organisations operating at the intersections between research and practice.

The publication is the result of a collective effort, and it would not have been possible without the support of so many individuals.

  • The authors, whose scholarship and reflection will inspire others in the field of leadership and learning across Glasgow City Council and beyond. They are all in full time, challenging roles and have demonstrated significant engagement, effort and perseverance in sharing their knowledge and expertise through this journal.
  • The University of Glasgow School of Education’s academic mentors, whose guidance, encouragement, and belief have been instrumental in shaping both this publication and the contributors’ voices as they develop as authors.
  • The reviewers, whose rigorous feedback and constructive critique have challenged the authors to refine each paper, to support the quality and the integrity of the publication.

The LSPE launch took place on 7th March 2025 at the City Chambers in Glasgow City Council. We thank Glasgow City Council Education Services for hosting the event and to everyone who contributed. Please see publicity around the launch in the links below.

We look forward to continuing with future issues and hope that the Journal of Leadership, Scholarship and Praxis in Education will grow as a platform for meaningful dialogue and professional growth in Glasgow and beyond.
