Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
The School of Chemistry is committed to fostering Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) in everything we do. We value the unique perspectives and experiences that each member of our community brings and we strive to create an environment where everyone feels welcome, supported, and empowered to succeed. Through our teaching, research, and outreach, we aim to build a culture of respect, fairness and opportunity that reflects the diverse world we serve.
The Athena SWAN Charter was established by the Equality Challenge Unit (ECU) in 2005 to advance the careers of women in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Medicine (STEMM). The School of Chemistry is proud to uphold the principles of the Charter, working to embed equity, diversity and inclusion at every level. We are committed to fostering a supportive and welcoming environment in which all staff and students can thrive and reach their full potential. We are current holders of a Bronze Award.
