Animal allergies

All staff and students should report to their supervisor/Safety Coordinator any potential work related allergic reactions that occur when working with animals or other potential allergens in the  Institute or any of the Animal Units in Biological Services or during fieldwork.

For example, this could include issues like itchy skin, skin rashes, running noses, runny/red eyes, breathing difficulties, feeling unwell, vomiting when in contact with animals, soon after contact with animals, or areas where animals are encountered, used or housed etc.

It is important to report any relevant work related incidents to the appropriate persons including the Animal Unit Manager, Supervisor, School/Institute Safety Coordinator. A SEPS accident/incident report form should also be submitted to the Safety Coordinator and SEPS.
