The latest paper with contributions from the Sonopill team has been published in Nature Scientific Reports: http://www.nature.com/articles/srep29570. The paper looks at the changes in tissue structure in diseased intestinal tissue using microultrasound. In this instance microultasound detects changes not identified in conventionally examined cross-sections and before the formation of other identifying features like adenoma. This shows how the inclusion of microultrasound in the diagnostic toolbox can highlight precancerous tissue allowing early treatment. Of course, microultrasound is at the centre of the Sonopill programme.
