Fabrication of Superconducting Resonators
Published: 1 August 2026
Shima Poorgholam-Khanjari is working on superconducting resonators to ensure working quantum devices are ready to solve the problems of the future.

Superconducting microwave coplanar waveguide (CPW) resonators are one of the fundamental components of circuit quantum electrodynamics (cQED) and quantum computing chips, owing to their high-quality-factor resonances and relatively simple fabrication process. These resonators enable the precise control and measurement of microwave signals at extremely low temperatures, making them essential building blocks for superconducting quantum technologies.
