Light Microscopy is a vital tool to the modern virologist, literally shedding light on viral behaviour and virus-host relationships. The CVR is fortunate to possess a state-of-the-art light microscopy facility incorporating equipment that maintains the CVR at the cutting edge of current imaging technology. Our range of equipment allows us to investigate both virus and host in samples of differing size and complexity and depending on the biological questions being asked we can even image samples up to molecular resolution. Light Microscopy perfectly complements many of the other virology procedures at our disposal, the range of imaging methodologies providing great flexibility in the approaches we can adopt.
