Student Engagement

The GUEST Student Engagement branch is dedicated to both raising awareness of environmental issues and creating opportunities for students to enact real change in the university community and beyond. We promote sustainable initiatives on campus and host a variety of workshops, talks, screenings and discussions throughout the year.

We help to build connections between staff, students, societies and the wider Glasgow community by hosting a monthly Climate Cafe for anyone interested in sustainability and climate justice. We encourage nuanced discussions on issues relating to climate and sustainability at our film and book club events.

We also organise the annual Glasgow Goes Green Festival, in collaboration with all higher education institutions in Glasgow. This event takes place in February and is an opportunity to raise awareness of sustainability across the city and celebrate the amazing initiatives and projects currently happening. This year, GUEST are running a Youth Hub during COP26 to create a space for young activists to relax, network and learn new skills.
