It is quite obvious that the primary purpose of you to come to an international university would be to study a subject that truly drives you and creates a sense of curiousity and inquisitiveneess inside you. The real learnings go beyond the course curriculum and after the end of the course you are equipped with skills that will help you shape the rest of your life. These are crucial skills that help you with not just one facet of life, but life in general.

I call the system - The G.A.M.E. - a personal reflective opinion but at the end of whatever you pursue, here are few of the things that will stay with you for the rest of your life.

1. Gratitude About Life - The fact that you would be studying in a land which would be a completely different place - new cultures, new people and new ways of life, will all teach you something very essential that every human being needs to know - Gratitude. As rosy as it seems, the entire process of being an international student, makes you thankful about the little things. Experientially, you will realise that life in general will always have some hope to offer, no matter what you go through. As long as you are breathing, there is nothing that can stop you from going forward. You will appreciate life in general.

2. Adjusting with Yourself - As humans, we evolve everyday and true growth is when you make adjustments and modify your belief system for the better. Eventually, you start to understand that to grow, you need to keep learning. It is like an overwrite or stack program that your mind goes through where each experience every single day has something different to offer. That is when you start understanding different perspectives and evaluate alternatives.

3. Manage Time Effectively - While many people debate about health and wealth being the two most important things of one's life, I would state that TIME is the most important resource you have. I am not being philosophical here but logically speaking, health and wealth are outcomes of how you manage your time. We know for a fact that all of us have 24 hours in a day and that makes every person have the same resource bank everyday we wake up. Being an international student will teach you so much about the things that will truly matter to you. It is a self-exploration and self-discovery process which will help you make time for the things that will make you happy. I am a firm believer that you are the master of your own happiness, Eventually you know how to make the right choices for yourself.

4. Embracing Uncertainty - While risk is, indeed, risky, risk and uncertainty are two of the greatest teachers one has in life. I feel every opportunity is risky to some extent where no one truly knows the outcome. Having reflected upon my time here, I realise that there were so many things that could have actually gone wrong. But once you are in the process of exploration, you will encounter uncertainties and it is SCARY. But at the other side of the road, will be a newer and updated version of yourself that will be proud of the person you are and be thankful about the fact that you took that exttra step.

I hope at the end of the article, you could takeaway the system of G.A.M.E. which is a never-ending cycle. Remember to treat yourself as a priority and embrace the growth mindset. Affirm yourself optimistically that at the end of the day, Everything Works Out, provided you are willing to put in the effort.
