The University maintains its position well within UK top 20

The University of Glasgow has ranked 14th in the UK in the Times & Sunday Times Good University Guide 2023, it was announced last week.

The University’s overall score rose from last year’s results, although our rank fell by two places. We are now 10th in the Russell Group and third in Scotland.

At a subject level, we have six subjects that rank first in the UK overall (Education, Sports Science, Nursing, Animal Science, Dentistry and Veterinary Medicine).

Three further subjects rank second overall (Law, Medicine and Anatomy & Physiology), with two subjects ranked third (Art & Design and Pharmacology & Pharmacy).

Professor Sir Anton Muscatelli, Principal and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Glasgow, said: “It is fantastic that once again the University of Glasgow ranks well within the top 20 universities in the UK overall, and the top three in Scotland. These results show the University is consistently among the very best places in the UK to study, with the vast majority of our graduates going on to high-skilled employment or further study.

“Of course, these encouraging results are down to the hard work and dedication of colleagues to ensure students have the best possible experience, and I would like to thank everyone for their efforts.”
