Glasgow University Environmental Sustainability Team (GUEST) is to hold a virtual conference to discuss the results of the University’s Climate Change Strategy Consultation “A Dear Green Place”.

The event, via Zoom, will be held on Thursday, 16 July, 1-3pm.  Attendees should register via Eventbrite https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/111846899086.

Members of GUEST – Katrina Wilson-Gowans, Katy Homyer, Amy Stevenson and Blair Anderson – along with the co-chairs of the Sustainability Working Group, Dr David Duncan and Professor Dan Haydon, will discuss the results of the consultation.

The consultation’s results are available at this webpage. Over the last few months, the GUEST team have been carrying out qualitative analysis of the responses from staff and students.

Last year, the University made a declaration of climate emergency and over the past 12 months, with the approval of both Court and Senate, it has consulted on its draft climate change strategy.

A wide-ranging strategy document, the consultation includes carbon offsetting, space utilisation, business travel, commuting, flexible working, waste and recycling, building resilience and a number of other areas of environmental sustainability.
