A round-up of news across the campus

2021-22 University Regulations online now

The University Regulations provide information on regulations for degrees for the forthcoming academic session and are now online at https://www.gla.ac.uk/myglasgow/senateoffice/policies/uniregs/regulations2020-21/.

A summary of the key changes to this year’s academic regulations is also available online.

 

Online short courses 2020/21 now open

The University’s online short course programme is now open, and a 10% discount applies to all enrolments until the end of August.

Online provision means that you can explore you interests from the safety and comfort of your own home whist meeting new people.

Open to all, the programme includes opportunities to explore your curiosity or revisit something that makes you smile.

This year’s programme currently includes topics from the following areas:

  • Archaeology, Classics & Egyptology
  • Art and Art History 
  • Creative Writing 
  • History, International Affairs and Politics
  • Languages 
  • Literature and film 
  • Philosophy 
  • Psychology & Counselling Skills

Professor Sharon Wright's House of Lords Evidence

Head of Urban Studies Professor Sharon Wright gave evidence to the House of Lords which contributed to their Economic Affairs Committee report calling for urgent reform to universal credit. 
 
 
 

Confucius Institute registration now open

Registration is now open for our September 2020 classes. All of these will take place online via Zoom.

Levels available are: Beginners 1 & 2, and Intermediate 1, 2 & 3. Each course will last week 8 weeks, with each lesson lasting 2 hours.

The cost is £115, including textbooks if you do not already have them. The Confucius Institute will post them to you at no extra charge - please indicate an appropriate address on the enrolment form.

Immediately prior to each lesson will be a 30-minute revision session, giving you the opportunity for additional practice with your classmates and teacher, and to review the previous week's class material. For example, with a class beginning at 6.30pm, the revision session would run from 6.00pm-6.30pm.

Payment for the course must be made online as our office is currently closed and we cannot accept cash or cheques. The link to pay will be sent to you along with confirmation of your enrolment on the course.
