The fourth development in the University of Glasgow’s Campus Development Programme

The University of Glasgow has submitted planning documents to Glasgow City Council for a new building and landscaping proposals for the southern side of the former Western Infirmary site.

The proposals include designs for a single 11,453 sqm building to house the Adam Smith Business School and a new Postgraduate Hub for the University.

It will be the fourth major new building to be delivered through the University Campus Development Programme and the third on the site of the former Western Infirmary.

The new postgraduate facility will be a home for PGT students at Glasgow. It will provide 1,400 study and meeting spaces and will be accessible to any PGT student at the University.

The development will also create a new home for the University’s Adam Smith Business School, enhancing the University’s reputation as a world-leading place to study Business by creating better learning and research spaces and improving facilities for stakeholder and partner engagement.

The business case for the new building is expected to be submitted to University Court in December. We will keep you updated of developments in due course.
