Gavin Williamson, Secretary of State for Education in the UK Government, visited the University of Glasgow on Monday, 16 September.

Mr Williamson, who was appointed as part of Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s Cabinet in July 2019, spoke with senior representatives from a number of Scottish universities on the impact that Brexit might have on the sector.

He then gave a round of media interviews before meeting the Principal, Professor Sir Anton Muscatelli; Professor Dame Anna Dominiczak, Vice Principal and Head of the College of Medical, Veterinary and Life Sciences; and Professor Miles Padgett, Vice-Principal for Research.

Mr Williamson was then given a tour of the James Watt Nanofabrication Centre by Professor John Marsh, Director of the JWNC.
