Look out for the following workshops during the coming months

Employee and Organisational Development have spaces available on the following workshops during the coming months

Discipline & Grievance – 20th September, 09:30-12:30

Description:
The law requires employers to act reasonably in their discipline of employees and in dealing with grievances. Poorly handled processes can lead to unnecessary and costly Employment Tribunals. Having effective and compliant procedures in place can encourage people to observe the rules and maintain workplace standards. If employees problems are settled early they become less time-consuming, are less likely to damage working relationships, therefore improving staff motivation and productivity. Prior to attending the course please familiarise yourself with the Disciplinary Policy and Procedure and the Investigating and resolving allegations of misconduct in research documents located on the HR website.

Target Audience: this workshop is suitable for anyone who supervises, manages a team or is involved in investigations.

Managing Teams – 22nd October, 09:30-13:00

Description:
High-performing teams can achieve results with impact when they focus on common goals, contribute in a meaningful way, support and encourage one another and positively recognise their accomplishments. This workshop is an introduction to managing teams and explores the key skills, knowledge and practices that encourage and foster teams to be the best they can be to achieve their aims and ambitions.

Target Audience: this workshop is for new line managers who have a structure that requires effective team working to achieve results.

Managing Conflict – 6th November 13:30-16:30

Description:
Conflict is a normal part of life and disagreements between work colleagues do happen. When they do, you need to be able to manage and resolve conflicts successfully to achieve the best outcome for you and those caught up in the conflict.
