For the month of June, we have recruited 10 interns to support the co-creation of Curriculum for Life (C4L) student facing communications and the development of course content for Collaborations in Practice (CiP), a new course as part of C4L. The interns are supporting the development of the course content and making suggestions on the learning experiences for students next year.

CiP will be one of six courses on offer to students next year in the Curriculum for Life suite of courses. In its first year, Curriculum For Life will be available for students in the College of Arts & Humanities and those studying MA SocSci.

A huge thank you to all Learning & Teaching and University Services staff supporting the Curriculum for Life project and this co-creation month.

Speaking on her experience on the internship so far, Ellie Murphy, student in the College of Arts & Humanities, said:

“This week we have started to test one of the proposed courses offered in the C4L course suite called ‘Collaborations in Practice’. This course aims to develop students’ ability to work in an interdisciplinary environment using interactive teaching scenarios. Additionally, the course encourages reflective practice which is a valuable skill.

Although it is only the first week of the internship, I feel that I have already gained so much from both the course we are testing and through my interactions as an intern in a wider interdisciplinary team. One of my largest takeaways from the sessions that we have tested so far is that working collaboratively with others is extremely rewarding, especially in an environment where learning is facilitated rather than presented.”
